Candle Magick—just those words conjure up the incredible warmth of a flickering flame, its radiant light banishing darkness and casting wondrous shadows that dance with mystical energy. It's simple, yet stunning in its profound impact, offering us a soulful connection to ancient rituals that honour transformation, purification, and the sacred power of light.

A Dance of Flames Through Time

Imagine this: 5,000 years ago in ancient Egypt, our ancestors used rush lights soaking reeds in animal fat to set their intentions alight, honouring the divine. The journey continued through the heart of Rome, where the first true wicked candle from rolled papyrus and tallow or beeswax lit the way for travel, home rituals, and prayers soaring to the heavens. It’s mind-blowing, isn't it, to feel that historical resonance as we hold a candle in our hands today? It’s as if we're lighting a shared, timeless flame, connecting us to those who came before and those who will come after.

At the core of this beautiful practice is the profound act of focusing our intention. That's where the magick begins. Don't fret if you lack a certain shade; a white candle, versatile and pure, stands in beautifully for any other colour.
